Adult Volunteers
We have a strong male and female adult volunteer group of uniformed leaders and assistant leaders who provide Scouting in Pyrford.
They are supported by an executive committee including chairman and treasurer who are all ex leaders and a Group Scout leader. We also welcome parent help on an ad hoc basis to help with camps and weekly meetings.
Each section is lead by a main leader and several assistant leaders who work together to plan and implement a programme of activities for our termly meetings. We also try and organise camps and weekend activities to enable us to complete skills that work towards badges and awards. All sections take part in local community events including church parade.
There is training provided by Woking and Surrey Scout District to include safety and safeguarding, first aid, residential experiences and tools for the role. Leaders are encouraged to gain their own award of wood badge.
All our leaders are volunteers and if they wish for their child/ren to become a member in Beavers, Cubs or Scouts then we ask that they commit in advance for a term but then their child/ren move to the top of our waiting lists.
